Custom panels – tailor-made electrical panels for your installation

Custom panels are tailor-made electrical and control panels built for exactly your installation – rather than squeezing your process into a standard solution. At SystemTeknik, we turn your requirements specification into a physical panel that fits the available space, component selection, rated current and the industry requirements you work under.

  • Almost all modular and enclosure systems

  • UL 508A and UL 891

  • Testing up to 6,300 A

What are custom panels?

A custom panel is an electrical panel engineered around your specific requirements instead of a fixed standard catalog. Where a catalog panel often requires compromises in layout, component selection or rated current, a custom panel is built to fit exactly the process, the enclosure and the space it is going into.

A typical custom panel can include

  1. Power distributionBusbars and branch circuits for multiple loads – sized for the rated current.
  2. PLC control adapted to your installationComponents and control selected for your process – the programming is delivered through our partner.
  3. Marking and documentationIndustry-specific marking and documentation – and preparation for UL-listed operation in the USA and Canada.
  4. Customer-specific layoutBuilt to your dimensions and in virtually any modular and enclosure system, so the panel fits the available space.

The result is a panel that minimizes sources of error, makes service easier and supports more stable operation, because everything is selected and placed with your application in mind.

Applications and industries

Custom panels are used where a standard panel cannot meet the need – typically installations with special requirements for rated current, space, documentation or industry-specific standards. We assemble panel solutions in almost all modular and enclosure systems, so the panel can be integrated into the infrastructure you already have.

If the panel is to operate in the USA or Canada, we deliver it as a UL panel to UL 508A or UL 891. If you need integrated automation, we deliver the PLC control through our specialized partner and handle the coordination.

How we build your panel

Our process is structured to give you transparency from the first conversation to the finished panel. We are happy to provide technical input as early as the requirements specification, so the panel is designed right from the start – reducing errors, costs and delays later on.

  1. Requirements specification and consulting

We review your needs, rated current, component preferences and industry requirements.

  2. Design and documentation

We engineer the panel and prepare full documentation and marking.

  3. Production

The panel is built in Denmark or Poland in the modular or enclosure system of your choice.

  4. Testing before delivery

All panels go through our testing, and we can test components up to 6,300 A.

  5. Delivery and commissioning

The panel is delivered fully documented and ready for installation.

  6. Service

Inspection, testing and replacement of components throughout the lifetime of the panel.

Because we produce in-house, we have full control over quality throughout the process – and can offer ongoing service after delivery.

Everything about our custom panels

Standards and certifications

Our custom panels are built to strict international standards, giving you documented safety and quality. With UL- and ISO-certified production, we are a supplier you can build long-term projects on – whether the panel will operate in Denmark or on the North American market.

With two UL certifications, we are approved to produce electrical panels for the USA and Canada – note that UL panels require UL-certified cables. Read more about our certifications.

  • UL 508A – the standard for Industrial Control Panels, required for products sold or used in the USA and Canada.
  • UL 891 – the safety standard for switchboards for the North American market.
  • ISO 9001 – quality management that improves quality and efficiency.
  • ISO 14001 – environmental management that helps us control and improve our environmental impact.
  • IEC 61131-3 – PLC programming through our partner, consistent and maintainable.

Questions and answers about custom panels

What is the difference between a custom panel and a standard panel?

A standard panel is built from a fixed catalog, whereas a custom panel is engineered around your specific requirements for layout, rated current, components and industry standards. The custom panel is adapted to your process, rather than you adapting to the panel.

Can you build custom panels for the US and Canadian markets?

Yes. With our UL 508A and UL 891 certifications, we are approved to produce electrical panels for the USA and Canada. Note that UL panels require UL-certified cables. Read more about UL panels.

Do you test the panels before delivery?

Yes, all panels go through our testing before delivery, and we can test components up to 6,300 A. The panels are delivered fully documented and marked.

Which PLC platforms do you work with?

We build panels with Siemens, Allen Bradley, OMRON, Mitsubishi, ABB and FT Optix. PLC programming to IEC 61131-3 – in Ladder (LAD), Structured Text (ST/SCL), Function Block Diagram (FBD/FB) and Sequential Function Chart (SFC) – is delivered through our specialized partner, while we handle the coordination.

Do you offer service after delivery of the custom panel?

Yes. We offer inspection, testing up to 6,300 A and replacement of components, as well as a service agreement with fewer breakdowns, notice when components are discontinued, and component replacement without waiting time through our partnerships.

Which industries do you supply custom panels to?

We supply custom panels to data centers, pharma, OEM, green energy and local infrastructure, among others, and we can quality-check the panel against the relevant industry-specific standards and requirements.
